In 1897, the late George H. Calder established Calder Manufacturing Co. in downtown Lancaster. His son, William H. Calder, Sr., owned and operated the company, which continued to manufacture machine products throughout the 1930's & 40's. In the late 40's he began manufacturing garage doors. Calder Door was established in the early 1950's to install and service garage doors & openers in the Lancaster County.

Today, Calder Door & Specialty Co. continues to serve the door needs of South Central Pennsylvania. The Company is now owned and operated by George & Mary Calder, the third generation, and their son, Ben Calder, the forth generation.

Calder Door has maintained the family tradition for quality products and installations for 50 years. Calder supplies and installs residential and commercial garage doors, openers, retractable awnings, rolling steel doors and grilles, mini warehouse doors, telescoping and impact doors, entrance doors and storm doors.

Calder sells and supplies several architectural specialty products such as commercial hollow metal doors & frames, commercial wood doors, architectural hardware, folding doors, wire partitions, toilet partitions and accessories. Calder Door's customers include homeowners, home builders, general contractors, commercial and industrial businesses.
